Knowing how to survive in water is different from knowing how to swim. This program focuses on the practical safety skills that matter most: treading water, floating indefinitely, self-rescue techniques, and helping others in water emergencies.
Core Skills Covered
The survival skills program covers: survival floating (face down, conserving energy), treading water for extended periods, entry techniques for unexpected falls into water, swimming to safety in clothes and shoes, and recognizing and responding to pool emergencies.
Red Cross Curriculum
Bibiana's instruction follows Red Cross water safety guidelines, the gold standard in aquatic safety education. Skills are taught in the correct progression and practiced until they're automatic, not just demonstrated once.
Who Needs This Program
Anyone who spends time near water without being a confident swimmer. This includes boat owners, fishing enthusiasts, parents of young swimmers, and anyone who lives in South Florida where water is everywhere.
Family Safety Extension
This program can be extended to include learning how to assist a struggling swimmer without endangering yourself, a critical skill for parents and caregivers.
